Change Management – my first year in the market

By Florence Chreseson, Principal Consultant - Change Management

I have been in recruitment since 2013 and have recruited for everything from administrative roles to placing senior roles within property & construction. Twelve months ago I entered the world of Change, brand new to the sector with the understanding that I would be dealing with the people side of transformation and project management.

Here are some observations of the market I have come to love:

1.       Change Management isn’t ‘fluffy’

2.      The market is relationship-driven and not transactional

3.       People are happy to meet for a coffee and even more happy to share their knowledge with you

4.       Change Managers love to network

5.       The market is growing and Change, as a skill-set, is still maturing

One year on, I will be heading on maternity leave in January. Whilst I am obviously incredibly excited about the year ahead, the timing is bitter sweet. Just last week, Allura Partners co-hosted the Change Management event of the year alongside the Change Management Institute (CMI) NSW. Everyone on the night said that it was one of the best CMI events they had been to all year and the response on LinkedIn, emails and phone calls in the days to follow were really heart-warming.

I absolutely love the change market and have built a very strong network of fabulous change professionals who I will be sad to leave for this break. As such, I am looking for someone who can step into my shoes whilst I’m away to continue the strong relationships / network I have in the market and then work with me upon my return.

This is a rare opportunity in recruitment to work in a true relationship-driven sector with some of the friendliest and approachable people I have dealt with in my recruitment career. If you or anyone you know would be suited to the world of Change Management recruitment, then please reach out to my Director, Andrew Smith on +612 8821 7302 or andrew.smith@allurapartners.com.au.
